A memory you can press play on.

Buddy is the reason this exists. At his happiest, he was pure chaos in golden light — sprinting, stopping, exploding into life again. And then, without you noticing, the years start moving faster. Dogs don’t give you long. But a film like this doesn’t.

FAQs

Tap a question to reveal the answer.

Can I be in the photos or film with my dog?

Yes. These sessions are mainly focused on your dog, but you’re welcome to be in some of the photos or film. In the consultation, please tell me your vision so I can plan accordingly.

Can I include more than one dog in a session?

Yes. You can include more than one dog, but it needs to be planned in advance. In the consultation, please let me know how many dogs you have and what you’d like from the session. Depending on how many dogs are involved (and how they behave together), we may need more time or a higher package so there’s enough coverage for everyone.

My dog is anxious, nervous or reactive — can we still do a session?

In many cases, yes — but it needs to be discussed up front. In the consultation, please be honest about your dog’s behaviour and any triggers (people, dogs, bikes, kids, etc.). We can choose quieter locations, work on-lead, and keep things simple so your dog isn’t overwhelmed.

If your dog is likely to lunge at or try to attack the camera or equipment, they will need to be leashed. If there’s any risk of damage or unsafe behaviour, we’ll put control measures in place or adjust how we shoot. Your dog’s safety, your safety, my safety and public safety come first, so if I feel a location or setup isn’t safe or suitable, we’ll adjust the plan or talk through other options.

Is my dog suitable for a session?

I can only film what’s in front of me, and I can only sprint so fast and so far. It’s important that you have reasonable control of your dog — if you can hold their attention with a ball, a stick or verbal commands, I’ll be able to work with that and get what we need. Every dog has an element of chaos to them and I’m here to capture it.

If your dog is likely to sprint 200 metres away chasing birds and can’t be called back, they’ll either need to stay on-lead or, sadly, this type of session might not be the right fit. I’ll always do my best on the day, but I can’t guarantee specific results because I can’t guarantee your dog’s behaviour. Please be upfront and truthful with your dog’s behaviour and bring up any concerns you may have.

Where do we shoot, and do you charge extra for travel?

Most dog sessions are on location around the Sunshine Coast — off-leash, dog-friendly beaches and parks, bush tracks, or at your home or property. In the consultation, we’ll talk about the kind of environment your dog is comfortable in and choose a spot that suits their energy and the style of film you want.

Travel within my standard Sunshine Coast area is included in the session price. For locations outside this area, or shoots that require extra driving time, a travel fee may apply. If you have a specific location in mind, please mention it in your enquiry and I can confirm what’s possible.

What music will be used in the video?

By default, I use licensed music that I’m allowed to edit with and deliver, so your video can be safely shared online without being taken down or muted. I use a combination of licensed music libraries and custom-created music that can be used on social media and across the internet without copyright issues.

Any song used in your dog’s film has to be properly licensed. I legally can’t sell or profit from copyrighted music I don’t own the rights to, so I can’t include commercial tracks (like Spotify/YouTube songs) in the final video I deliver to you.

If you have a specific commercial song you love, one option is for me to edit a version of your film to the beat of that track and deliver it without sound. Some social platforms let you upload a silent video and add that song inside their app using their music tools. It’s not ideal, but it’s the only workable way to pair your film with a copyrighted song I can’t license directly. If you choose to add copyrighted music yourself on a platform, you are responsible for any copyright claims, strikes, takedowns or account issues that may result.

How are the films and photos delivered, and how long are they stored for?

Most dog sessions are delivered within 2–3 weeks. During busier periods it may take a little longer, but I’ll always give you a clear ETA at your shoot so you know what to expect.

You’ll receive your finished films and photos via a private download link, as well as on an engraved USB in a gift box.

Your download link will stay active for 12 months. I also keep a backup of your final edited films and photos on my drives for around 3 months after delivery to cover any immediate issues. After that, files may be cleared to manage storage, and I can’t guarantee I’ll still have a copy.

Because of this, it’s really important that you download and back up your files — either from the link or the USB — somewhere safe (for example, your computer and an external drive or cloud service). If you know in advance that you’ll need your download link active for longer than 12 months, we can arrange an extended hosting period for an additional fee before the link is created. Once the link has expired, it can’t be reactivated.
